to Roastery

Altitude Coffee was founded by Joe, a former airline pilot. After losing his flying job, he turned a long-standing love of coffee into a brand built around aviation. The roastery sits in Hornchurch, London — and the blends carry the names of navigators, pioneers and adventurers.

We roast by hand on a custom-built Giesen cast-iron roaster, in small batches at our Hornchurch unit. Beans are sourced via Mercanta, our long-time partners, and farmers are paid twice the Fair Trade rate. Bags, zips and valves are all plant-starch — one of very few UK roasters fully plastic-free.
